If the electoral vote decides who is going to be president, what does it matter who votes or not if its classified as the popular vote but really doesnt make a difference. __________________ Gore's just being a whiny bitch. i think if the recount shows he is ahead by a certain margin they can call for a revote by the electoral college, then he can lobby for votes again and maybe get a different vote. he's just being a bitch, who is going to want a president who had to win that way? i would be so embarassed to be part of his support structure__________________ I think this is how it works, but I'm not positive...The popular vote in each state determines which candidate gets to appoint people to the electoral college from each state. (who will most likely vote for the candidate that appointed them) After a candidate wins the majority in a state, each additional vote past that "break even" point no longer matters in the electoral college. In other words, the electoral college is determined by the majority, not by the size of the majority. That is how Jackson won the popular vote but not the electoral vote. Mavi forum |
