problem w/ dvd player

Can any of you please help me figure out what is causing my dvd player to malfunction? The picture will fade in and out in about 10 sec. intervals (it will be very bright then gets so dark you can barely see the picture). I just bought it and have exchanged it for another that is doing the same thing. It is a Samsung dvd-709. I am not using s-video..just using standard video output. Any help would be greatly appreciated! __________________ Nevermind....I figured it out. __________________ tell us what was wrong, in case other people have the same problem __________________ The dvd player was hooked up through the vcr not directly through the tv. The fading in and out is part of the copywrite protection of the disk. __________________ Copyprotection? Wow, that's news to me...
