Att @home cable modem sucks

I have @ home and I think it is the worst company ever. My cable has been down for like 53 or something hours. It goes out normally about 8 or so hours a day during primetime usage. And I can not use while I am sleeping so Its usless untill about 2 in the morning. I call customer support and they give me the run around and tell me to call back later. If I was not doing illeagal stuff with it I would cancel it. My reccomendation is to try and find a different company. STAY AWAY FROM @HOME!!!!!

Which cable company do you have?

ATT (nee TCI) @home was crap the first 3 months or so it was available in my area, going down at least once a week for 4-8 hours, but it hardly ever goes down anymore, maybe once every two months. When it does, I just mark down the times it was down, call customer service when it comes back up, and ask for a credit. Haven't had a problem getting one yet.

time warner roadrunner has been acceptable in my area. it has been down maybe only 4 or 5 times in the 11+ months i have been using it. i have noticed a slight decrease in speed as more people get on the service, and at times it got down to a crawl a few months ago, but they did some updating and it is flying again.

I have AT&T too, and only in the very beginning did I ever have problems with it... I had a whole whopping 7k download rate most of the time if I was lucky. They said they were updating their servers. So they gave the entire city a free months credit and now, I can't remember the last time it was down. At least 6 months as far as Ive noticed. I'd say keep calling customer support, and keep asking for the free credit. My line to them was "Why am I paying $40 a month for a service that I can never use?" That usually makes the Customer service person just give you the damn credit.

@home sucks in some ways, but in others no. It sucks reliability and sometimes in speed. And the customer support people have the IQ of rotting sh!t on a log, I was actually telling them things that they did not know. The only thing that saves @home from total suckage is that you can make up new IP's and use them for free on the @home network as long as you don't tell them, but um, um, I, um wouldn't know that...
