What can we talk about that is in your terms, " Off Topic?" Question: Whats the difference between posting almost nude photos of chicks that you have hanging on your dorm walls, and posting other topics such as picking Presidential candidates or wondering if the Dali Lama picks his nose? I came to this board because I heard it was not in the norm. I was tired of whishy washy backstabbing juvenile activity from other boards and the people that posted on them and heard this was a more mature board to join where you can have a little fun and some serious banter. I see that still there are always a few people who want to make a good board crappy by their complaining. __________________ Touche` __________________ All the examples you mentioned are fine by me. I have no problem with half nude photos, politics, or the dalai lama. I can chime in on any of those things. While I don't mind the occasional personal post, there seems to be an overabundance lately. Off Topic is exactly that; A topic that doesn't fit in the other areas. The Hot Babes thread is something that alot of us are "interested" in, being male and somewhat randy. When someone posts multiple times about an inside joke, or regarding personal communications, it really makes the boards hard to use. When I log into the forums, and have to sift through 3 or 4 threads of "Hello world," it makes browsing boring and repetative. One final note - - While I don't mind the influx of users to the board, I think it is only polite that the newbies read older posts, or at least lurk to see how people on the board converse. The reason I've become disenchanted is because of the abundance of the worthless posts. I understand that you percieve this as a public forum, and for the most part it is. But, as a public forum, the majority of posts should be something that the public is interested in. And, if there is an inside joke, it is polite to explain as best you can. As to bullying, we are just longer term members who remember a time not very long ago when the boards were fun. Now they've become boring because the fun threads are buried in a bunch of personal threads. Someone (ProMinx, if I remember) mentioned it, and I backed him up. Your responses ranged from accusations of PMS to bugs up our asses. You want to get nasty, I have no qualms matching you. You keep saying life is too short to worry about such trifles, and yet you continue to respond to this thread? Why do you feel life is short? We live a lot longer than many animals who never worry about such things. Does it just feel short because its really empty? Or are you just regurgitating a catchy phrase you saw in a Nike add without thinking too hard about it?
