new forum proposal

ok, i know that this should go into the 'contest' forum, but since that is over, i'll put it here. i propose that the got|apex crew look into modifying the forum structure. i feel that the got deals? forum should be eliminated, but 4 should be added: deals found, deals wanted, casino deals, and freebies. i have a feeling that some people are only interested in getting freebies, while some people are totally not interested in taking the risk on a casino deal. that is my proposal for now. more will be added later. __________________ A problem with that, which apex moentioned earlier, is that people will spend timein the deals found forum, not the deals wanted one __________________ i'm with Y2J....plus I like all the deals in one easy to read forum.... __________________ moi aussi. I WOULD like to see a reduction in the "I want this, and I've done absolutely jack sh!t to see how much it is at the usual suspects, find a good deal." That totally gets under my skin most days. I've just stopped responding to requests now because people just don't put forth any effort whatsoever. __________________ But I would rather see the forum stay in one piece. There aren't that many Casino deals that it's getting crazy, and MaggieOK, ugly, and a couple of others post most of the free crappy stuff noone wants, so you can just skip over their names most of the time if you aren't in the market for that stuff. __________________ i'm not saying that i am right or anything like that at all, i was just throwing out the idea for everyone to discuss. i'm not so sure if i agree with myself anymore either. __________________ Damn I feel weak here, all you guys got at least 4x the posts as me... oh well. But ya I think that maybe instead of seperating the deals into "wanted deals" "deals found" and stuff like that, it should be a little more catagorized. Say computer deals, free t-shirts, electronics, etc... Just cause it can get annoying sometimes searching through all the free t-shirt deals to find something you want. Just and idea though, let me know what you think. __________________ kacarp is more along the right track, if there WAS to be reform. __________________ I think the big arts and crafts project for Team Apex should not be reorganizing the boards but fixing the search function and making it much more visible. Many a time, I'll be on the verge of asking for something, remember the search button, and come up with what I wanted faster than had I posted something. Recently, it hasn't been working all too well, but I think this is the long term answer, instead of reorganizing the board every time there's a flood of "x"-type posts. We have a good structure now, something that endures. Let's keep it that way. __________________ Hey that would be a good idea. Ya I always forget about the search engine there.. but if they made it more visible and tweaked it a bit, that would make things easier to find. Until gotapex grows to, uh, lets say 10,000 members, then we should maybe split it to two forums one for freebies and the other for got/need deals. When a board grows at a rate like this, fights will usually start up. Come on people....If you don't like the deals someone posts, ignore them. Don't go around saying "skip over" certain peoples posts. You don't like them?...cool don't read them. Others may (like myself) find them interesting. I don't care if you knock me. Heck it won't be the first time. But when you start knocking people trying to help others, that just gets me mad.
