Apartment Hunt in Washington DC, help needed

Anyone here from/around the DC area and can recommend a decent (safety and price-wise) areas to look for apartments? Mostly looking in the northern areas since I'll be working in Adelphi, MD and I've heard that traffic can be a b*tch there. OUTSIDE of dc..even though the beltway can be a bitch its WORSE if you live in dc..annandale is nice-not TOO expensive and its a quick 12 miles or so right into dc...you can take the METRO in which is easier because they dont allow single passenger cars to travel into dc ..which totally sucks if you dont know anyone to share a ride. __________________ yeah right! if you are working in adelphi, you dont want to live in va. the price might be better, but the metro ride will be an hour or so and it will take even longer to drive! yeah you can do it, but you might as well just live in md! there are cheap places in md around adelphi area and it is unnecessary to go to va. try wheaton or something. or laurel is nice.. not too far away. __________________ eeeek..DIDNT SEE THAT MARYLAND PART..why did I think you were working in D.C? forgive me..YES..THE metro ride would be too long and expensive to go to MARYLAND..shoot me already..HEY tuvi where you been dear? __________________ I've pretty much narrowed my search down to the College Park / Adelphi area, and maybe Laurel, MD.
