What's the difference between a cult and a religion?

Another important thing is what they are worshipping. Cult's usually are classified as worshipping a person whilst religion is worshipping a higher being/entity. Now some may ask, what do you call a small group of people that worship a higher entity? Well friends, these people are called "sects."
