Americans are pretty cool

...too bad we have such an untrusting government which continually lies and mongers wars with no end in sight.

There is less chance of being hurt violently in America than in most places in the world, yet isolated and manipulated statistics like gun violence are used brainwash unthinking members of the populace into giving up more of our inalienable rights to power-hungry pols. Yes there are alot of guns in America, but hey dummy that's why it managed to stay a Free country for so long; notice how Sh !tty the economy in places like england[outside of London] or australia where socialist governments had nothing to stop them from 'taking care of the people'?

Now they want to tell us to hand over all responsability to a body that has shown itself to be Most Irresponsable in respecting the Bill of Rights[FedGov in recent years]. no ####in WAY! Wallstreet loves income tax; they make so much off the back end it not even funny. but wall street is not America[though i do stand behind in investing in companies you believe in] and federal policy should not be biased towards it.

Stop this genocide in Columbia. It only continues with the unspoken consent of the American people. Do U stand for killing people?

Tax cuts were a mantra for Reagan-era republican supply-siders, but mssrs, clinton and rubin managed to lower interest rates and eliminate the budget deficit by raising taxes. Thus, "there is little support on wall street for a big tax cut," says robert hormats, a gore supporter who is vice-chairman of the Goldman Sachs Group. Before clinton, he adds,"you would have had a lot of difficulty getting wall street to vote for a democrat.

...

let me repeat: wall street Loves income tax because they are one of the biggest porkers at the trough and they certainly don't mind paying a little on the front end to get the gushing fountains of money on the back end. Capish?

First of all, it's spelled "capiche". Second of all, if you look at what the text says, and who was saying it, it has nothing to do with the illogical extension of "money comin' on back". It has to do with the supply of money and governmental crowding out of money. Because they are servicing the deficit with tax money, they aren't relying on T-bills and T-bonds, thereby cutting down the competition for consumers of that debt. Therefore, companies can offer lower rates on their corporate paper. If the government could figure out a way to finance the government's activity with no taxes, there is no bloody way Wall Street would support income tax.
I think the relatively conservative government we have now magnifies the business cycle. Certainly, Americans have enjoyed recent success more than any other country because they keep a greater proportion of what they make. Meanwhile, during recessions and depressions, those "socialist" countries you so derisively refer to suffer proportinately less. It's a choice: maintain that safety net at an annual price (higher income tax) or fly w/o a net, and fly higher...

Either respond to the posted rebuttal, or admit defeat. You had a kick at the can, and then you turtle when I kick back. Intellectually cowardly (yeah, that's right, I'm callin' you out )

seriously, is this forum about evolving the science of arguements or is it about evolving humans?

yes there is a mountain, i would say sh !t-load of 'evidence' to support the status quo.

And then there's Truth

Well, there's the crux of your argument: that "different" equates to "better". I'll grant you, the status quo (or close variations of it) does not work for some people. But it seems to be a reasonable way for things to work, and the majority of people seem to turn out ok.
Science is based upon the proving of theses. Theses are supposed to be predicated upon deductions and conclusions from data, not the result of flights of fancy. Your "truth" is not a long hop from fiction, and until you can come up with a theoretical basis for the stuff you say, it remains difficult to take seriously.
