I would start getting background info on the idea. ie) if it is an invention then go look for patents. if a web based thing then look to see what is out there and stuff. See what equipment you need and see if u need to get parnters. Also if you are still in school it would be good to talk to a professor about it or some guidance area. That is true I forogt about that one. My team of ppl made this cool thing but we had a fight over ownership and profit and thus never made it out in the market. HOWEVER, if you're lost on how to get cash, I stole the latest issue of what used to be PCComputing from the doctor's office today. It's called Smart Business for the New Economy now, and the August 2000 issue has a terrific article explaining the various pros and cons of funding sources (F&F, angels, and VC's).
