Did anyone see the 24 hours of Le Mans?

I know its not a huge event in the States, but I can't believe that Audi team's pit stops. Replacing the entire rear of the car in 4 minutes? That's freaking amazing. What happened to the Porsche factory teams? It was sad that a 993 GT2 beat the most recent 996 GT3's. Just goes to show the old body style was better. __________________ Wish I saw it. Which company won this year? __________________ Audi just destroyed everyone. I think by 25 laps? They were just so much more prepared than anyone else. They anticipated a durability problem with their gearbox/rear suspension. Their solution was to replace everything (EVERYTHING) connected to the rear third of the car. And in under 4 minutes. It was pretty amazing. Also amazing was the Porsche driver who drove a whole lap with his head looking out his open door after his hood flipped up onto this winshield. This it the purest form of motor racing around. __________________ Awe man missed it. when was it? i wonder if they will replay it __________________ I believe it was over the weekend, although I might have seen the capsule coverage on Friday (?). It was on FSNetwork. I doubt anyone actually televises the entire thing... __________________ hehe i only want to see the intense parts.. O well I will see if i catch it agian if it replays. __________________ Yeah, I'd agree. GT racing is so intense. Those drivers are hella burly. Especially since they have 3 or 4 different classes running at the same time ;o. I'd have to say either GT or Rally is the greatest driving sport. __________________ Apparently it was abnormally hot this year...temps of 150degrees plus in the cockpits. Lots of guys were getting out of the cars and just fainting in their helments. __________________ Wow, is itavailable online orsomething? Like real Player? ------------------ ~Grizy Great, so how much is shipping? __________________ i dont think it played yet in a lot of areas, otherwise i fell like a loser for not watching. did the cadillac run this year, i have been waiting to see if they went for it and what kind of effort they put out. as far as audi seeming like they were so together, a lot of manufacturors pulled out their support this season, and most teams were very deprived or not represented. last year was the best race at leman i have ever watched. __________________ Yep, Cadillac ran. I think they may have had some problem with handling or something, because (I was doing something else while it was on), every time I looked up, these silver cars kept flying over the curbs or smashing into guard rails. I love how they refuel their cars with gas cans that look like large gatorade coolers. Hehe, stock car. . . __________________ i'm still confused on how it is fun to watch the same cars go around the same track like 500 times!?!??! i dunno man... __________________ another thought... unless you sit there hoping for some of those crazy crashes... but then if you do just sit there and wait... i'm not sure if i'm scared of you or for you... __________________ i don't think i can sit and watch whole thing but when ppl are climbing in front of each other and stuff, it's fun to watch =) ------------------ ~Reality is an illusion~ __________________ being a car nut, i know that the action in circle track racing is in watching all the passing that happens during a race(there were 52 lead changes in the cart race in brooklyn,il on sunday) and in the pit stops where people get run over and almost crash into each other, and the accidents dont hurt. however, i still can only stand a few minutes of it at a time, you really do have to be a redneck to watch that crap. __________________ Yes, that cart race was really fun to watch, but it is the very rare exception. I can't think of anything (maybe the LPGA or PGA Senior...hell, the PGA) that is less interesting to watch on TV. That, and the fact that ALL THE CARS ARE THE SAME for all intents and purposes, really takes the "car" out of car racing. Oh, i know it becomes a quesiton of driver skill, but I'd rather have a plethora of different marques than just 3. BOO-RING! Then again, seeing old races of the ol' Porsche 917's whip the tar outta the Ferarris and Fords was pretty great...
