APEX for $89 a SCAM?!?!

remember recently about a month or two ago, there was a mass email to alot of us to call an 800 number to buy working APEX DVD players for 89 bucks.....well..i know somw people bought it and they may have been scammed.....

This is an article from MSN that i saw today..i could be wrong, but then, it's better to be safe than sorry about this matter..if i'm wrong.....disregard this notice

i saw that a few days ago. someone on another forum posted it. i hope nobody here ordered that thing. its supposed to be able to take all your money out of your checking account if they got your information.

they showed that on the news! some people from MD got charged like $80 for a membership fee to some other company. and the company who sold the dvd's (or didn't sell rather) has no working phone number or address. they also said that no one received a dvd player. that really sucks.

I guess this is why you're best ordering over the net with a reputable credit card. All Visas should now give you 100% fraud protection, and I know that Amex's blue is good for that, too (with a whole host of other goodies).
