A vote for Nader is a vote for change

It's not a vote fer G.W. and it won't affect Gore's chances[of losing]

check out this article

That's really an interesting article. Our whole system of voting with popular vote then electoral vote seems like such a strange way of doing things. I think it would be great for Nader to get funding and a role in the debates as well; he certainly didn't deserve to be blocked from entering the first debate even as a spectator.

After reading this article, I think I'd still vote for Gore, though; were the election not this close, I'd feel confident in voting for Nader, but it's just too close. The possible good feeling I'd get in seeing Nader get funding and entrance to the debates in the future, (if there is a future) would quickly be shot down if Nader voters led to a Bush administration.

By the way, I'm taking names now for who will flee with me to Toronto in the event that Bush gets elected - leave your name and I'll add you to the list ;p

Until something drastic changes to change the currently BROKEN election system we have... I mean come on! Is this the BEST that America has to offer - Bush and Gore??!!??

The Nader vote is going to be all the Dems not wanting to vote for Gore, and then guess who sneaks in the back door?

So let's turn this in to what it really means... a vote for Nader = a vote for Bush, because we all know DAMN well that Nader isn't going to get more electoral votes than you can count on the hand of a leper.

Actually - i hadn't read the article until after I posted the above... after reading the article... I still say it's a wasted vote. I feel my vote is wasted anyway. It's so nice to know that before you even cast your vote and the polls are open for another 4-5 hours your electoral votes are in already.

The whole electoral voting principle is outdated and should be dismembered. That system was built around ballot counting technologies that had obstacles that have since been overcome... LONG AGO!!

I thought (hoped) things were going to change when all the baby-boomers got of age to make a serious difference in the political/social (un)consciousness (sp) of this country. But here they are, those ex-hippies- now they're the ones in power and look what changes are happening. ---NOTHING---!!
They are promoting and soliciting the same things that their political leaders did that they so vehemently rallied against in their youth.
Bunch of phucking hypocrites. I abhor the baby boomers.

[whoops just reread the above message]

major parties will never change their toon without at third party push. Read up on US electoral history; 3rd parties presidential campaigns, while never successful, have had important influence in transforming the political debate, usually for the better.

Stop listening to Gorons (What the heck is a Goron?); they haven't a clue as to how to run a good constitutional government, as the the last 8 years sadly demonstrates. 4 more years of a democrat in the white house[and republicans controling congress] and U can bet your ass we'll see more civil liberties rolled back with more 'hate crime' legislation to compensate, oh great.

nip ne0-fascist-socialism in the Bud; don't vote for a major party
